Following a detailed scouting, some 35 European sustainability tech companies were invited to Copenhagen in September to meet with Chinese investors and potential partners and to participate in the EU-China Cleantech Competition. This resulted in five companies being selected as finalists and to participate in the CleanConnect 2018 summit in Nanjing. Meva Energy was one of those companies.

Yesterday the final presentations and evaluations took place resulting in the jury selecting Meva Energy as first prize winner.

Dr Rong Xu, CEO of Umore and head of the organizing committe of CleanConnect:

“Meva Energy´s innovative biomass gasification technology faces a strong market interest in China. There is a substantial need for circular conversion technologies both in order to reduce and valorize waste streams and in order to produce renewable energy. Further, Meva Energy´s approach of producing low-calorific biogas instead of pure biomethane or SNG is a very relevant business model to cut production costs of renewable energy.”
