Life at Meva – touched by Sofie

In Life at Meva by Elsa Kayser

In the role of an on-site operational technician, Sofie Rydell has undertaken a mission that involves not only normal operations but also driving continuous improvement. Being a part of the operation team, Sofie Rydell plays a key role at our facility in Kisa.

Meva Energy’s gasification plant is a complex facility that contains innovative technology to convert biogenic residue to renewable gas. The process involves several steps, including feedstock preparation, gasification reactions, syngas cleaning, and product separation. The plant’s efficient operation requires a competent team including operating technicians that plays a critical role in the day-to-day activities.

”It is extremely exciting to be part of something completely new and unique. We are all beginners as this is the very first factory to use this process, and every day I learn something new.”

For Sofie, who joined the Kisa site in November 2022, every day brings new challenges and discoveries. Her role involves monitoring, patrolling, sampling, and filter cleaning, all of which play a crucial part in diagnosing issues and driving continuous improvements. But it’s more than just troubleshooting; it’s about identifying opportunities for technological enhancements that contribute to a greener environment.

”I’m proud to be associated with a company that strives to make our world greener. At the same time, this work has made me reflect on my own impact on the environment. I have started to think more carefully about my habits and consumption choices. How can I minimize my own ecological footprint?

Meva Energy’s gasification plant in Kisa isn’t just a place of energy production, it’s a center for ongoing education and innovation. Here, a community of like-minded individuals sharing the same goals and vision for a cleaner, more sustainable future.

It’s inspiring to be part of an organization that doesn’t just talk about making a change, but actually acts on it.”
